I saw her
For a while
Behind that screened door
Smiling.

I saw her see me.
I saw her
Smile at me
Behind that screened door
Cheery.

I saw her bless me.
I saw her
So happy
Behind that screened door.
Happy.

I saw her love me
I saw her
Telling me
Behind that screened door
I love thee!

I saw her waiting
I saw her
Expecting
Behind that screened door
For me.

I saw her cry
I saw her
Teary eyes
Behind that screened door
We cannot be!
