I sit here alone ( part 1)

Contributed by zexen on Sunday, 18th April 2004 @ 11:50:32 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I sit here alone,
The midnight waves crashing against the shore,
I watch as the pale moon floats across the sky,
Disappearing into the azure of the new days sky,

As I sit here I can hear the sounds of the town behind me,
I hear the people waking up from their deep slumber,
The children rushing out side to bask in the light of a new day,
The sound of the milk float as it chugs down the road,

The morning calls of the birds waft through the morning air,
The bark of the hounds echo of the walls of the town,
And then I hear the last wailing cries of the cat chorus,

The smell of the morning coffee floats upon the air,
The smell of roast meat fills my lungs as the market stalls and fast food joints open,
The dark, foul smelling smog of the birds-eye factory obscures my vision,

I sit here alone,
Listening to the mid-day waves crash against the shore,
I watch as the sun rises into the sky,
Casting its light onto the earth,
