To hear is to forget
To see is to remember
To do is to understand.
But do we really understand
The hate and the lies?
Is it better for us
To keep our thoughts inside?
If we keep it to ourselves
Will things ever change?
Will they ever comprehend?
Are we just running in place?
When I try so hard to grasp
The unknowns I can't see
I find the truth hard to accept
Much harder to believe.
But if the skies are empty
And it is all untrue
There lives no reason to exist
No reason to pull through.
So I'll wait here for the answer
I'm following the signs
Remembering not to forget
When life is not a straight line.
Your life is what you make it
Your first and only chance
Make no mistakes, leave no regrets
Give not fate a second glance.
Do not give up hope.
Once lost it won't return.
Leave only good impressions
It is those who don't who learn
Exactly what it is to burn.
