It makes me so mad
When you claim the things you do
Cutting, bleeding, purging
Those are all things I know, too
If only you weren't blind
You'd see me standing here
Someone for you to lean on
A friend, who will always care
I know what you're going through
I've been there once before
My throat, internally bleeding
My wrists were cut and torn
So now that it's you, not me
I remember how it was
People always stressing you out
Name calling, push and shove
And even if I loved them
I didn't care at all
I'd still starve myself and cut my arms
I didn't care how far I'd fall
Please, hear me crying
I would miss you way too much
Uncover your eyes, would you?
And see what I have for you...
That's love.

You should think of giving this poem to your friend. It really touched my heart and sometimes a person will listen when they know you've been there. You may not be able to change the behavior but you can light the bulb of awareness.
A heartwrenching poem.
