If you dont love me or will only stay a day,
I will try to understand though it will make me cry;
But before you go there is something I must say;
I'd do anything to keep you and this is my last try.
I have my family and special people I have known;
I have my hopes and dreams of a good life too,
And one day maybe a child of my own;
But I have no needs above my need for you.
I have a heart that is still free and gay,
And a mind that is curious and open wide;
But all I have is yours if only you will stay
With me and be there by my side.
You dont have to live up to any dream of mine,
But find something in me you dont want to be without;
Something others might overlook would be just fine;
In return Id do all I can to remove any fear and doubt
That you were loved and wanted beyond compare;
I will be intimate and with me thered be no blame;
As there is nothing I wouldn't do to show I care;
Love has no place for embarrassment or shame.
And when a hostile world that seeks to wound and mar,
Leaves you feeling there is nothing left inside;
I will show you that youre better than you think you are,
And put right the cruel hurts done to your pride.
I will try to make the days fit the pattern of your need,
And like a soft gentle water flow around you,
And soothe you with my kisses, and always heed
The tender care that love requires to keep it true.
But when the angry storm within you rages,
And to ease the ache you feel you must let rip;
I will be firm and strong, a rock of all the ages,
And hold you tightly close, without falter or slip.
For I know we all get times of pain and worry,
And who else is there who ought to share that load?
My love is never having to say youre sorry;
My love has no exit slips along the road;
I dont have much but my all is what I give;
And I have a love that reaches out to you;
I offer it for as long as I might live;
I hope you take it, for its the best that I can do.
