The Parting

Grief

Goodbye I wave, goodbye, Unable to hold back the tears, I cry A veritable flood, an endless stream But this is reality, not a dream Eyed through a misty veil -The parting is real.
There she goes, And all those years of love and laughter Ends, as she disappears.
We were once so close! A lover's chain! But the links weakened, Leaving hurt and pain.
Forget, start anew, The foot has outgrown the shoe In which it sat so snugly, for so long And now dances to another tune, Of a far off beckoning song.
There she goes, A last wave of her hand I return it, and wish I could understand Goodbye, goodbye. Oh God.

i only have to say for every parting there is a meeting, when a relationship ends there is good reason. they werent for you. they merely were the begining of who you are ment to be with. |

The foot has outgrown the shoe... love that line.
it is so short, yet filled with meaning.. Great work. When that happens, things begin to pinch.. |
