I
And we, are but thorns around a rose, And we, are but crows amongst a dove, And we, are but thieves between a king.
II
And I, Never filled with the light, An emptiness filled by vile thoughts, But all that changed, As I was nailed onto the cross.
III
So I am told it started with three kings, And now it ends with two thieves and a king, Why should he die for me? But then I asked for his forgiveness.
IV
And I, now know my place And I, shall never forget thy face, For he has opened his fathers gates, And I, now can die.

Kudos!
I've seen way too many blah religious writes and I'm sick of them---- you're poem has been a much needed relief of them!!! =)
The way you use to describe things has its own..... style.... it's own..... well I can't describe it, but something about your style just captivates me. I'm speechless!
One thing I might add would be to put a quick bit in at the end about not actually dying but being reborn... I dunnow, leaving it at death doesn't stay too well with the theme of Christ's resurrection..... But what the heck, I loved it all the same =)
Excellently done.
God bless,
Ellen |
