Divorce

Topic: SadPoetry

Every morning I wake
And try not to hear the screaming
Why cant they keep it down for my sake?
It seems funny to me now,
But when I was young,
I truly thought love was endless
Who would have thought
I would end up bathed in darkness?
I guess Ill never know
How he can say those things
I guess Ill never know
How she can cover the bruises
I guess what Ive learned is in the end,
everyone loses.

Awww, that is so sad. Same thing I went through. My dad was abusive.

Yes, everyone does lose in a divorce, but the children lose the most. It destroys their sense of security, they lose innocence and faith and it lays a foundation of lack of trust in love for the rest of their lives. I think this was a very truthful, albeit sad, write about a destructive force in the lives of children.
