Reflections in a shallow pool
Perfect poses, me and you
In the shining moonlight
I write to end this night
On wonted shores I wait
for your soft embrace
and for a single fleeting moment
I have that subtle taste
On my lips and tongue
and in my mind I place
a spot in time and space
for your smiling face
Reflections in a shallow pool
Perfect poses, me and you
In the shining moonlight
I write to end this night
On this night so late
we try to tempt our fate
and knowing as we might
that we must end our night
and as we go our ways
and say what we must say
I will always come back for you
on another day
