From you Ive no secrets.
I have nothing to hide.
My desire is forever
To be right by your side.
You know how I suffer
When youre not here with me.
So you promise that you will
Stay in contact with me.
I drop what Im doing,
Just to rush to your aid.
Your needs and desires,
Are priorities Ive made.
But you promise to call me
And then never do,
Unless you need something,
Or I come to you.
But Im not worth the effort,
Its clear to me now.
Even though I try to reach you,
I never quite have learned how.
The excuses are so many.
Each day a new one given.
I must read between the lines,
And attempt to go on living.
My hopes were all in you.
You saved me from a certain death.
But I know for sure right now,
Youd just as soon that I had left.
Im not the first fool who ever lived.
Im not the first man to shed a tear.
Im not the first to believe a lie.
But I have always been sincere.
