Another Chance

The love of my life... the love of my heart
Is walking out the door tonight
Never to return...
I don't know what I said or did
To make this happen again

Here I sit weeping like a little child
Thinking of when we met...

We were like two teenaged kids
We were so in love then
We were so inseparable
Hoping to soar high in this life together
When we were married... we had so much going for us
Now we have a teenaged daughter
And she's so beautiful

But it's all starting to crumble
It's all starting to fall apart
Where did we go wrong?
Were we ever in love?
Or were we just fooling each other with a grandeur of love?

Now we fight all the time
Constantly at each other throats
Over the little things in this life
Not the things that matter most
It's the things like why you're never at home anymore?
Or why do you have to work so hard all the time?
All I want is... another chance at this life...

But there's one thing we've never stopped to consider in all of this...
How it's affecting our daughter?
And the pain we're putting her through
With all our angry words?
The hurt and anger... we see in her eyes day by day
Is a product of this life we've made
Are we abandoning our daughter...
With this behavior of ours?

Please answer me... my love... my heart...
Please don't go... don't walk out that door tonight
Not until we get this love right
And we have a fighting chance at this life
We've made together...

All I'm asking for... is another chance...
Another chance at this life... to start over...
To start over again....
