Tell Me Something

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

I know that I'll never be
A permanent resident in your heart,
And I know that as "just friends"
Time will rip us far apart.
I know that in the twilight
It's not me you're dreaming of,
And when I wrap my arms around you
You shrug me off "just because."
I know our time is over,
And I know we're almost through,
But I see that pain inside
Just aching to come through.
I want to really know you
If I can't have you in the end,
So tell me what makes you, you,
My oldest, dearest friend.

What fairytales were you told
As a young child in bed,
What super hereos and monsters
Ran rampant through your head?
And as a child
What trials did you go through,
Were you aware that through them all
You had friends to go to?
What turned you into
This perfect person that you are?
What happened to get you here,
What was your guiding star?
Can you answer me just one more question,
And then I swear to you, I'm through.
Why now of all times, through everything we've done together,
You refuse to let me know you?

Life little games. Fate sits down and takes a hand. The king of fools is dealt and the joker steals the deck.

Life can be so maddening sometimes, this sounds like one of these times. Man can I relate.

Good write..
