These Masses

Contributed by Daniel on Monday, 15th July 2002 @ 06:31:04 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

my eyes are glazed over just as i wake up
it's my eyes, my eyes that are burning
in a room filled with strangers coming up
up to me, on to me to tell me something

turning to condescending masses overtly outspoken
as they're trying to tear down any prolificacy
how long before i return here with nothing broken?
and when will i grab hold of some efficacy?

i just woke up
this place brings about feelings all fed up
i might just walk away and leave
there's nothing here for me to believe
in these masses...

a shocker i haven't slapped someone in the face
even with a twinge of my very own decadence
i hate having to run around this maddening pace
knowing very well it's sugar coated pretense

my heart just breaks to be right in this
yet my head tells me it's all okay
not too long before my own mind is amiss
but oh well, nothing else i could say

i just woke up
this place is where i have had just enough
i might just walk away and leave
there's not a thing for me to believe
in these masses...
