They Say

Contributed by StoneAngel on Thursday, 29th April 2004 @ 11:10:07 PM in AEST
Topic: schoolproblems

They say "you are a good friend"
They tell you how special you are
They wish you good luck for the future
They say they'll never forget you

But in the end your not a good friend
But in the end your not that special
But in the end the wishes and luck don't come
But in the end they forget you

They say we'll see you next year
They say your a great friend
They say have a great summer
They say they are sorry for offending you
They say they are sorry for causing you grief
They say "see you next year"
They say "we should keep in touch"

But sometimes you don't see them next year
But you find out your not there great friend
But you may not have a great summer
But they're not sorry for offending you
But they're not really sorry for causing you grief
But you never keep in touch cause life doesn't go the way you planned it

You miss those highschool years
You miss those teachers who nagged you
You miss those friends you never see
You miss the partys and the games
You miss the security of highschool life
Then your highschool life is over and the real life begins
ohh hum, you thought highschool was hard, ha
College or University is harder, you'll see

having just graduated after two years of college, having connected with no one in particular and still missing my highschool friends, this spoke to me all too loudly...

I hope I am not one of those people you are speaking of in the first two stanzas... I have never forgotten you...

Great write... keep it up!
