Picture Perfect Pretense

Contributed by Diatribe on Friday, 30th April 2004 @ 06:49:48 PM in AEST
Topic: PoemsonBeauty

Pretty is painted on the walls of the oblivious
Where mascara hides the weakness in your eyes
The shadows are exactly what they are upon your face
And to taste the false promises of touch
Within the coating on your lips
Tells me youre far from who you claim to be
You mask what nature gave you
Where eyelashes stretch beyond lies
In hopes to draw attentions elsewhere
Your picture opposes beauty
If only manicures could be preformed upon integrity
Structures resemble billboards that advertise
Beyond what embodies taste
A lusting embrace.

A thought provoking poem.

If looks don't matter then why do we focus on them instead of the inner?

I dunno....

This was a very good poem.

If only more of us knew what you have discovered. This shows your wisdom and compassion. It forced me to think on how I view people. Beautifully written.
