There was a boy that i once knew
His eyes a deep, deep shade of blue
He wore a smile upon his face
A smile as bright as heavens grace
How he changed my life dear friend
Has brought my happiness to an end
To you this story i will tell
For I remember it very well
In my life i'll never find
a love so generous or kind
We used to gaze into the night
Until one day we had a fight
Then he had another girl
Which sent my mind into a whirl
He sat his girl upon his knee
And told her things he neevr told me
His blue eyes shone like stars in the sky
For this girl was much prettier than I
I ran home that night and cried on my bed
Thats when i decided i rather be dead
My father came home much later that night
And called out my name to see all was not rite
he broke down my door and froze ina stare
To see me hanging near an over-turned chair
He found a note besides my bed
And in this note these words i said...
Dig a hole and dig it deep
In a marble tomb from head to feet
And on my grave please place a dove
And tell the world i died for love

Tragic and scary... What a sense of wasted loss this conveys. I hope this doesn't really happen to you or anyone else. Love can hurt but given time the heart will heal.
Nice write, stirred my emotions well. |
