A survivor. That's the tag these days Holding on despite life's insipid ways But am I truly what it says
Despite appearances of being strong I fear I'm here where I don't belong In a place so not right and a time all wrong
Yet I am here, battered and scarred All I see and feel is jaded and marred Standing up has become so very hard
Yes, I have withstood onslaughts so unkind Vicious assaults on my heart, soul and mind Still, I believe I was just left behind

Y, know, it's hard to tell whether the poem is about a trash can or a person....very, very interesting imagery. |
