If I could cross the ocean
just to wipe away your tears
or share with you successes
as you happily laugh and cheer.
I would bring you to my table
so that we could share a meal
and I'd listen as you told me
what you did and how you feel.
If I posessed the money
I would help the destitute
I would cure the world's deseases
if I only had a clue
yet believe me when I tell you
my resources are quite thin
it's enough to keep my bills paid
and to keep myself from sin.
If I but had the answer
I would freely give and tell
all solutions could be purchased
at a very decent cost
it would be to help the lowly
in the same way I helped you.
but right now all I can say is I love you.
Even Jesus when he walked with us
upon the globe of earth
said he had to leave us, for heaven
before we could be helped
and I can tell you friend
that I am not half the man he was.
But I give help where I can
If I'm not in selfishness
So to all the people struggling
I will help you if I can
And I hope we all help others
don't leave it to one man
for no matter what our belief is
we are all fellow brethren.
All the rest of it Is best to be unsaid

Awesome.......
Funny how at the beginning many here and certainly you were great from the start.
Meaning the poems were great and simplistic.
Maybe we all should get back to that. |
