Raziel, oh furred one, who
bounced into my life.
Your smudge-faced photo
arrived in my mail and
I was hypnotized.
I love you more than raspberries.
More than Rachmaninoffs Rhapsody.
More than rainbows.
More than rain.
I love you more than Christmas.
More than caresses.
More than chocolate.
More than candlelight.
I love you more than the ocean.
More than the sky.
More than laughter.
More than breath.
Nothing is so sweet
Nothing so warm
as the feel of your snow white fur
on my lips as I reach down to kiss you,
lying in the sun-beamed window.
Nothing fills me with more joy
than your beautiful face,
topaz-green eyes always open,
questioning with fascination,
craving my attention.
You follow me, enamored as well,
walking room to room, never asking why.
You pat me with your Maine Coon mitts,
your talons neatly hidden.
My love expands even as you face away.
I cant help laughing when I see
your head crowned by two large triangles
and your adorable white body
brushed with tabby paint.
Your voice is constantly heard,
telling me this or that.
Its rolling rs are like el gato
rather than simply cat.
