My Refection.

Contributed by deathdrop on Monday, 3rd May 2004 @ 07:51:22 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I stare into my reflection.
My eyes flaming like a Bunsen.
My clothes black and dampened.
From my tears, I feel broken.
Re-opened.
Dead from questions.
Swollen.
Whitened.
Frozen

I need get up,
And stand my ground.
Theres no time to stand around.
But I cant escape, things surround.
I cant get out!

Theres no time to stay where I am.
No time to revise for my exams.
Every thing spins, its starting to slam.
This is me, its where I am.

My refection holds my truth.
Here I stand, wasting my youth.

I look in the mirror, and see my face.
I feel numb, often chased.
When I get mad, I slip out of place.
This is me, I have no grace.
Here I am, its my place.

broken tears, broken soul, broken me.

I like your poem a lot.

"I stare into my reflection.
My eyes flaming like a Bunsen.
My clothes black and dampened.
From my tears, I feel broken.
Re-opened."

I understand this stanza, more than I'd like to admit. I too feel broken, and continously re-opened. Great line- wonderful poem.
