Everlasting life

Contributed by Archie on Wednesday, 5th May 2004 @ 06:04:44 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Can't you hear your father calling?
Come on into everlasting life.
Theres a mansion waiting for you,
at the end of all these trials and strife.
When you're finished with your journey,
there will be a rest for your souls.
You will drop your heavy burdens
and never have to carry them no more.

(Chorus) Everlasting life Everlasting life

In this life there is much trouble.
There are many tears and many griefs.
There is pain and theres destruction
there are many quarrels in the streets;
but where Jesus Christ is waiting
there will be struggles no more.
We will gladly change and enter
into the Lord's gracious courts

(Chorus)

For those bible scholars out there. Can you tell me what book and 3 chapters I am speaking about.

Are you a musician? I wouldn't mind hearing this - even though I am areligious, the lyrics are cohesive enough to believe the music behind it would be at least melodic. I would have liked you to expand the mansion metaphor a little more, however - one of my favourite poems has this metaphor worked around a magickal forest. Anyway - a competent write.
