Memories of Time

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Memories of Time
In the hustle and bustle of the day
When the chores need to be done
Time grants no mercy
Not for me or anyone
Tick, tick goes the clock
Ever onward it moves
It allows not for diversity
Or individual cosmic grooves
It only measures the time
We all have to live
It cares nothing for our dreams
Or what we have to give
And so we go about our living
As tho our time is endless and free
Setting aside the real things
That mean so much you see
Until one day we realize
Time has taken them all away
And all that is left to us
Are the memories that stay
Russ
Sad statement but so true. We miss out on so much from being rushed and harried. I have only discovered that since I retired and now have that extra time for the kids and grandsons and ME even.
