Ragged scraps of something wonderful
Party favors strewn across the bed
Confetti tears soak my pillow
Stain of cruelty all that remains
Once you held me spellbound
While you picked my pocket
Pawning my heart and soul
Leaving my spirit bankrupt
Staring at despair
Your kisses so cold and corrupt
Distorted pompous images
Colorful promises squandered
Taking all my dreams with them
A superlative performance
Was promised and delivered
Calculated to leave me begging for more
Your place in history now secured
