YOUNG PEOPLE REALY DON'T UNDRESTAND.
THEY ARE BEING USE,BY THE LIQUAR MAN.
AS THEY ENTER ONE BY ONE,
THE BARTENDER SMILE HERE HAVE SOME FUN.
AS HE CONTINULY POUR THEM DRINKS.
THE MACHINE WAS SOON ON THE BRINK.
WITH IN A MINUTE IT WAS GOING AGAIN.
A YOUNG MAN SHOUT WERE MY DRINK.
AS THEY PARTY THOUGHOUT THE NIGHT,
THE CLUB OWNER TALLY UP,WHAT A GOOD NIGTH.
BUT UNAWARE OF WHAT HE AS DONE,ANOTHER
YOUNG MAN WON'T EAT NO LUNCH.
THE PAIN AN DISSY SPELL HE FEELS,
MAKE HIS HEAD HURT LIKE A SCREAMING SEAL.
THE OWNER OTHER MORE STRONGER STUFF,
TO SELL TO YOUNG PEOPLE WHO CAN'T GET ENOUGHT.
THEY DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU,AS LONG
AS THEY GOT YOUR MONEY DUDE.
SEND THEM A MESSAGE AN MAKE IT CLEAR.
CAN I HAVE SOME WATER WITH ICE,THATS FAIR.
AND IF HE SAY THEY DON'T SELL THAT STUFF.
THAT YOUR EXCUSE TO LEAVE THAT CLUB.

This is why I started my mentoring program "Reach Out" in the middle school here in my town. It approaches subjects that children are facing at younger and younger ages. This poem hit everything on the head exactly... and it is so frustrating when no one pays attention to what is happening to the youth. I love the idea of mentoring programs... it gives the children, and teenagers, a stronger chance when they all stand together, and say no. I don't need that. A shirley temple will do.... or ice water. This is one of my favorite poems for tonight. Thanks for sharing it!!!
