A Fleeting Shade, Chasing Benevolence

Contributed by SheDevil13317 on Saturday, 8th May 2004 @ 08:34:27 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Look to the sun, it burns my eyes
Seems I cannot run to my surprise
The light stalks me for eternity
I cannot see outside the dark
The shadow is my only friend
Walking in the meadow until the end
Of lifeless color pale white skin
Adore the light but it pains within
A secret love of the snow-white dove
I wish to fly like you
To take to the skies and forget the lies
That I am free of you

Torn asunder my soul tears apart
I want to live outside of this dark
Just give me a life that I can live
Give me the cross so I may forgive
Holy man tell me I am forgiven
Or must I live a life in solitude?

Wander the dark, hiding in mist
Evil gives sparks as if I've been kissed
Yet I long for something so much more
To caress such beauty and marvel how pure
Romancing the rose and hold it in hand
as I watch it compose and wither to sand
So much like me as I watch it die
In colorless eyes I begin to cry
Mourning my loss of my purity
This cross stalking me for eternity

I enjoyed this poem-
feelings are written better than thoughts-
you seem to have felt a great deal of loss
some time ago-
always write what you feel-not what you think-
thoughts change-
feelings remain forever even if they are
sometimes misplaced for awhile...

Very, very touching. This is one of those poems that could easily bring tears to others eyes.
