The Last One Takes The Cake

Contributed by SuperAsh16 on Sunday, 9th May 2004 @ 02:20:32 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

the wind growls with the compassion of a bear.
the thunder rolls in like a train wreck waiting to happen
the blade slices over my skin with the precision of a surgeon making the first cut into an expectant mothers' stomach.
the first cut is the deepest, but the last one takes the cake.
oops, i ran into a vein.
the pain tastes bittersweet on a rainy day.
the lightening strikes close.
how ironic. so does the knife.
close to death yet so far from internal happiness.
is this really what i want?
oh so sweet revenge on those who laughed when i was but a child?
then again, who really wants to die?
me, i do.
the blade sinks in. the last cut is here.
and the world falls away as i sink into a infinite sleep.

Wonderfully thought out, with wording that describes my own life, so i related to it very easily. I enjoyed it as much as i enjoy anything.

i can't believe how well you captured the moment. wonderfully written, so depressing yet so enlightening to those who can relate.

All I can say to this poem is RIP. If that is really what you want.
