Cruelty of December

Contributed by ebonystiletto on Monday, 10th May 2004 @ 04:53:21 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

The chill, it grows
And the sky is void of light

Curling whitely, bitter cool
Muted skies of change

White.

The snow it bleeds
And I enter the hallowed field

Eden born, winter bred
Wasteland void of life

Yield.

The light, it fades
And I find the sky without a sun

Creeping clouds, waltzing dark
Solid bars of ice

Run.

The life, it fails
Petals fight

The hate
The cold
The snow

White.

Shattered flowers
Slumbered dead

The life
The will
The loss

Bled.

Skies unblue
Shades of grey

The hope
The want
The strife

Pray

They slumber
Curling tightly, winter bred
Petals dead

White.

Creeping lies
Seething hate
Murdered beauty
Hopeless fate

And they bleed on hallowed ground.
