My ears have longed to hear the voice Of lifting songbirds wings, And soothing voices lulled to sleep By the ballad my star sings.
Fooled by distant mirrors, such as The deserts seductive mirage. These liquid faiths These rusted dreams Reflected in a collage.
Within your heart I find a light That calms my voice serene. Even in the dead of night I clutch my crumpled dream.
So long Ive awaited your hand But I had never reached. Though youre right across the bridge, That chasm I havent breached.
Sometimes I look to your picture: A sip of momentary grace. This tainted heart This painted calm Alone in my cherished place.
Your face is fading from my sight. My voice sings new lament. Shadows passing by my light, My heart is not content.
My view is shaded by skies unblue- Standing on hallowed ground, The wind is dancing in my hair, But you cannot be found.
Reflected in a mirror-broke, These dreary thoughts wrought falsely nigh. These harkened sighs These broken seams Your voice sounding through the sky.
Air thick, laden with your whispers Strung on a thread of dew, Laced in a dusted veil of mine Garnished now and made anew.
The sky alight with fire on high Atop this burnished rise, Reflected by the golden dawn Were set your flame-kissed eyes.
A chunk torn from your existence Will be set into its space, And that splinter in your mind Will be quite hard to erase.
