bruised

Topic: SongLyrics

you look at me through stone cold eyes
that burrow through the back of my skull
draining my essence, lies after lies
turning the bright to the dull

not long ago you saw in me
what nobody else had tried to see
you came along and set me free
from a fear of life all alone

then something changed and you turned away
left me to long for our yesterday
abandoned my love, not a word to say
why your soft eyes turned into stone

you look at me through stone cold eyes
that burrow through the back of my skull
draining my essence, lies after lies
turning the bright to the dull

as you ran away, my world fell apart
you shattered an already damaged heart
the pieces so scattered, don't know where to start
looking for a place to hide

now i'm left to mend the life that you tore
a huddled mass bruised, beaten and sore
don't know if i can take anymore
there isn't room left inside

you look at me through stone cold eyes
that burrow through the back of my skull
draining my essence, lies after lies
turning the bright
turning the bright
turning the bright into dull
