Society..is a joke

Contributed by SocialMisfit on Thursday, 13th May 2004 @ 12:16:37 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

input
process
output
forget
from as early as possible
they build us up
creating machines
that they can use
at their disposal
our education system
is tailored
to make us all
nameless
faceless
worker bees
no one learns anymore
we just do as we're told
and reap the rewards
do a trick
get a treat
just don't anger the master
or you'll be left out
in the cold
with only a shed for a home
input
process
output
forget
forget about all they've done
and all they are planning to do
as long as they keep food on our plates
we'll do what they want us to
they can control our minds
bodies
spirits
cause nothing's free anymore
not even us
so let's all be happy
and wear our gap khakis
and leather jackets
like uniforms
after all
we're all alike
we all have mouths to feed
and bodies
to shelter

Sounds like the military.

You've captured the way I feel as well, a job well done indeed. You've said it all.

Humbling and scary thoughts- but somehow
in the bleak darkness of it all-a possibility.
This poem disturbs me, but forces me to think
that the potential exists. That our world is not OURS
but planned and mapped by hidden forces.
Deep, probing poem.
