You left me there
Sitting all alone
Sitting on those gray steps
That made me tremble
I was waiting
For what I did not know
For you to come back
And tell me that you loved me?
For an angel to come
And take the knife out of my back?
For a lightning bolt to strike me
And carry me to the devil or to god?
I turned my head to the right
That's the way you went
And that's the way you left me
I did not see you
I looked up at the sky
I did not see an angel or a lightning bolt
All I saw was the gray monster
Looking back at me
It began to rain
The rain drops blended with my tears
I turned my head to the right once more
And I thought I saw you
But it wasn't you
It was the angel
That took out the knife that once stabbed me
And healed my heart forever
