another year has gone by
it was not an easy one
by any means but i made it
through to celebrate
my birthday today
sometimes when things
got rough i felt just like
laying down and dying but
i didn't die
somehow i got by
reflecting back it
was you and my two
furry four-legged friends
that helped me make it
although i know not
what tomorrow may bring
with you and God's help i can
survive another year or two
