Why? Why? Over and over again I ask myself
For too long I've tried... to hide
The veil of ignorance slipping faster
Then suddenly truth violently strikes me
Blinding me with her cruel taunts
Sighing softly why? All glimmer of hope gone
Marred tears staining my face
Fear grips me and it all becomes clear
There is no escaping the cycle... trapped
My fate sealed... there's no changing destiny
Breathing becomes difficult... eyes pricking
Not even pride could save me now
My treacherous soul lays bear the ache
No, not now... I will not... not again!!!
With bitterness I remember the pointlessness
And hear they come just like before...
I feel them sliding, slowly oh so slowly
Their presence mocking my weakness
The path of salvation closed
And freedom becomes a sweet memory
There's nothing left for me to do but to surrender...
With resignation I give myself to the void of nothingness
