You rescued me from no mans land,
Stuck out there on lifes lost strand,
You took me in and gave me so much love,
I look up and thank god above.
Even when you had deep rooted doubts,
You listened to my disturbed screams and shouts,
Comforted me when I couldnt bear to leave my bed,
You stayed, where all others would have fled.
They say blood is thicker then water,
I strongly disagree as your adopted daughter,
Youre the parents that every child wishes for,
The kind that wont turn their backs on you, but open the door.
I dont know what Ill do when youre gone,
Ill find it impossible to carry on,
But I will be happy, not wear a frown,
Because I know that youll be in heaven smiling down.
Theres no two other parents like you, who walk the earth,
The angels and cherubs were present at your birth,
Theres one thing I can tell you for a fact,
Mum and Dad youre a once in a life time double act!
