I fall in love with misconceptions
I suffer from a fractured perception
That comes from past rejection
And leads me to believe the truth is deception
The people I love turn into people I hate
I hate having to wait
To fall in love with fate
And hope it will bring me a mate
I wont debate
When all I want is for someone to be
What they seem like they should be
For their dispositions NOT to lie to me
See I cant stand
Still loving who I thought you were
What happens to a love deferred?
Does it disappear like the scent of the rain
Or does it lick its wounds and conceal its pain?
If I could turn back time
I’d reteach my mind
To gain premonitions
And see you with my x-ray vision
