A Jaded, Tainted Nation

How can you call this nation of ours beautiful? If this nation is the epitome of perfection, why do we still hate and discriminate? You laugh as you tell me I am too young to understand the ways of the world today, but even you cannot deny the brutality and hate. You call this progress, yet I am seeing our nation rapidly regress, someone help us please, we're in a great distress! Everyday there is violence in the streets, somebody's life is taken away, somebody's beat. If God is great and God is good, do you think that perhaps he has understood why no remorse is shown for our sins, why diversity is not accepted? I think we need to swallow our selfish, shallow pride and understand that without respect, there's gonna be nothing left. To me, being an American means understanding the beauty of diversity, for that is what it means to truely be free. So forget all your ignorance, hostility, and rage and then you will see how beautiful our country really can be.
