It's hard to write about Exactly what you mean to me, Because it touches me so deep inside That it makes it hard to breathe. You have this undeniable hold Upon my soul, That begs me to remember why, Why you were so dear to hold. Your smile, your laugh, Even now is like caresses on skin, Even though I know you are gone I close my eyes, and relive it all again. So close to each other that I used To know just what you were thinking, Old enough to know better, Young enough to appreciate the risks that we were taking. You gave me another side of myself, And a piece of you lives in me, I guess that's why it's painful when I think of you, So painful, painful just to breathe.

It's a bittersweet poem and one that, unfortunately, occurs all to often. I still search for my lost love, she was also one of the best friends I ever had and I miss her. They say the ache fades with time, what no one ever mentions is the agony that returns when memories strike. Nice write. |
