Afraid Of The Dark

Contributed by remy on Thursday, 20th May 2004 @ 12:27:19 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

it's cold and it's dark
inside the walls of these rooms
well who's afraid of the dark?
just me when you spoke too soon
i know that it's noon time
i can't see far past my head
and the more that i'm just fine
i'll stumble on words i've said

and in another moment
this feeling will fade
like a purpose sure spent
again a stupid game played
grace
peace
what are those?
i don't know...

i wake my eyes up to receive a tainted stare
everything reminds again that you're not there
i've torn myself to pieces yes all my own
thought interrupted when you call upon our phone
made
spent
another day again
what will it send

could have sworn i was right
to pull upon your heart strings
still i see a bloodied sight
why is it i'm the one bleeding?
where you'll see this burden
it carries me down to the floor
it's just a stupid burden
from yesterday it feels like more

and in another event
this feeling will change
like a fathomed first sense
again hallucinating days
space
please
worthless clothes
well i don't know...

i take my chances amidst the crushing glares
in my advances i'll retreat right back over here
i've shattered heart aches yes all my own
but this won't leave me for why i just don't know
i'll wake my eyes up and avoid the tainted stare
where do reminders go when situations fare?
what went so badly i can't remember anymore
but i'll feel the aching for something more
made
spent
another day again
when will it end

in heartache
these lines burn
claim mistake
still my turn
this sobers
not closure carried out

wait
this break feels a bit too long
just wait
mistake a dream all along
just wait
i'll take my time though i'm wrong

and yet the feeling stays
superceding every other one
and as the day lighting pains
the darkness covers the sun
would i be so self engrossed
to call upon what you left?
still my heart feels so close
next to what i couldn't guess...

*sigh*

It's a good write... but I really don't like reading this dark stuff from you... I hope the ache doesn't last much longer and you find the closure you're looking for... think happy thoughts.

Dani xx
