Visited this site,
To see a friends work.
And maybe kill a little time.

Now I find myself coming back.
Again, and again.
To open up my mind.

Words by Lia and Springchic.
Herbleaf and Pickles,
Maynard, WordPoet and Muse.

Some of it is whimsical,
Puts a smile on your face,
Just a clever little ruse.

Some of it is dark
and brooding,
And I wonder why

Some of the odes,
Have touched me deeply.
And brought a tear to my eye.

Or seem to be written...
About things I am feeling.
How can this person be seeing?

How can this poet
Write these words
Probe the very depths of my being?

Crude attempts of my own,
Cautiously posted,
Have gotten kind review.

Many thoughts of mine,
I would love to share,
And might, as spirits renew.

Baring my soul to all,
Is a scary thing to do,
But here it does seem right,

So thanks to the poets,
And thanks to Mick,
For having this wonderful site.

Didn't mean to exclude anyone...but including everyone might have made a record length poem! Just went to the forums, and grabbed the first few names I saw!

excellent, i've only been here a day and i'm already name-dropped in a piece. hell yeah, nebill, right on!

ok so what if you were just picking names at random of the homepage.... good enough for me!!

don't be shy about putting your stuff up, even if some jerky like me says something bad about it, doesn't even matter, as long as you're feeling what you're writing and you enjoy reading it, then keep on keepin on. and keep on sharing.

I totally agree with your second last verse re sharing your soul is a scary thing to do (with the outside world) .... but in here I feel comfortable as well - like being with friends who understand exactly how you feel. I have never read so many poems in my life that have totally reflected my exact feelings. It is really mind-blowing. I have kept most of my poems to myself, but find I can now share them in here without a worry.

Thanks Mick and poetry dot com.

Great poem nebill.
