like a bird who fell out of the sky
sitting on his feathery butt wondering why,
i would like to know why it tis that
my love is never quite where i am at,
like a lonely star reaching for the sun
impossible and ne'er ever done,
a quest around again and again
a dance that is over before it began,
where waterfalls flow in an uphill stream
alas, that is my love, only a dream,
lost memories of times gone by
tears lost in rain when i cry,
like coffee shops on unending streets
love lives in my every heartbeat,
just another soul wondering why
with broken wings i cannot fly.

There is a paradox
that I often quite miss

You are already good at doing that. Your poem is a reminder that all people struggle from the most selfish to the most giving. Thanks for being in the giving catagory. |

This is so lovely Nessa, so sad and emotional. I especially like this stanza
