You wonder why I'm not religious
When all my life you shoved it down my throat
Telling me to believe in this and not believe in that
But why should I?
Why should I be religious?
It doesn't make any sense
If there was a god I don't believe that he/she/it would have let the 9/11
attacks happen
Or let so many kids die young
Or let so many people never stop having the tough breaks
They wouldn't give all the power to the poor
If there is a god I think he's taken a vacation
And if he's truly taken a vacation is that something that you want me to
believe in?
Jeez if that's the case why don't I just believe in something that provable
This whole Adam and Eve thing is kind of shady
What's up with that?
Now you're making me make my conformation?
What the hell?!
I don't care if I hurt ur feeling by telling u religion's just a bunch of
*****
It doesn't bother me
I'm just telling the truth
You yell at me
When I say I don't believe
But why would I want to get up at 9:00 am on a Sunday
Go to church
Listen to some dumb a**
Talk about how we should be all cheery and happy and get over losses
quickly
Sit in hard pews for an hour
Why would I torture myself with that?
For something that can't even be proved?
You tell me why?
There's too many rules
And I mean come on satan, god, angels, devils, hell, heaven?
We all the bible was written by a bunch of drunk idiots
Or maybe it wasn't
If it wasn't that
It was to get kids to be good by going "u can go to hell for that"
Yeah well guess what?
I don't fit into that category
I will not be brainwashed!
I know what's the truth
And the truth is not religion!

an acerbic view, yes, but there are many paths to the top of that mountain. perhaps this might be yours. one should never be forced into something they do not agree with. this is true for all phases of this life. you just need to ask yourself exactly what do you know and believe in. talk it out with a trusted friend or even just with yourself. and don't expect answers right away---there is no 'back of the book' in life.
