Doves and Crows

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Tuesday, 25th May 2004 @ 08:21:38 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Two morning doves came today
To play under the old oak tree
I think they were mocking me

They nuzzled close to each other
As long time lovers will do
Reminding me to miss you

They stayed for too short a time
Then fluttered off into the sky
They never even told me why

Crows, fat and black, come then
Staring through me with evil eyes
They tell me of your lies

I try to scare the vile beasts away
Those nasty birds refuse to go
Anger now begins to grow

Excellent. Great way to work through things. Love the symbolism. I am familiar with this. We remember the good things and almost forget our reasons for moving on. Nice write.

Nice. Very symbolic. The rhymes didn't distract the reader from the poem either. That's something many writers have difficulty with.

P.S. - Thanks for commenting on a couple of my poems.

The title of this caught my eye and I'm glad it did.
Don't let the anger consume you my friend.

Very well written

I know I'm repeating myself when I say you have a way of magically making the words fall onto the page in such an exquisite way. I can relate to this poem so much, however, you tell the story of the emotion...those type feelings in brilliant form. Saying I am very impressed seems to be an understatement but that's all I have at the moment. Very very impressed.

Thank you,

Timber
