Last Bouquet of the Season

Contributed by twisterchaser on Tuesday, 25th May 2004 @ 09:47:21 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

It is spring the april showers will bring may flowers.
My rose garden is budding and putting on new leaves,
as I sit here and ponder my mind like a weave.
My thoughts go to warm sun rays, and long summer days.
Beautiful flowers, the smell of a fresh cut lawn,
I may even go fishing down at the pond.
I cut the flowers for there beauty and smell,
they will liven up my house telling me all is well.
From springs gentle rain till fall early frost.
I cut my flowers so none are lost.
The weather is cold the leaves are all gone.
The north wind makes me hurt down in my bones.
As I rush out to capture the flowers that will be this seasons last.
I realize that to soon I may be in the past.
So as I wonder from day to day,
I need to make flowers bloom along on the way.
Bring a smile to a child, so you will have a good reason,
to pick the last bouquet of the season
