To do list for the day:
clean the floor
thats the chore
nothing else to do
wash the cloths
forget all woes
too much to be done
clean the tub
no more time for the club
growing up was good
played in the sun
had the fun
too bad thats all done
responsibility's to keep
dirty floors to sweep
to do list for today
feed the cat
call dad to chat
this is being grown
when we were young
oh how we song
we wanted to be big
we wanted only to see
what it's like to be free
and now we want to go back
back to worry free life
when there was no such thing as strife
aside from rebelling agains mom
I wonder why we tried so hard
to get the adult card
too bad we're blind to truth
we're better off to stay
young and much like clay
being molded takes less work
some will want to say
staying young is the wrong way
but what could be better then that?
be deaf and naive to the world
and don't grow up too fast
because before you know it
childhoods over
and you have a to do list for the day.
