Promise Ring

Contributed by MisterRight on Friday, 11th October 2002 @ 01:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

This promise you know, I made some time ago
I havent had the chance to keep
The promise to fulfill, your desires at will
The promise of love so deep
The promise to be together, and love you forever
Never less than I do today
The promise to protect you, to never neglect you
And to never go astray
It is a promise of, an everlasting love
Close to my heart it lingers
Each and every night, I pray for the sight
Of my promise upon your finger
This promise I bring, in the form of a ring
Suspended from a chain around my neck
If you and I, are never given a try
This promise cant be kept
The promise patiently waits, and anticipates
As it longs to hold your hand
With some time, this promise of mine
Ill replace with a wedding band
Remove this promise of mine, from the chain that binds
I assure you youll feel no regret
Please dont deny, the love in my eyes
My promise must be kept

Curtis...it's always been quite obvious that you have always kept your promise. Your side of the bargain so to say. I know how bad this all must be tearing you apart.
