play a song

Contributed by purplestary on Sunday, 30th May 2004 @ 02:16:58 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

play a song for me
a simple melody
something with lots of meaning
and holds a ton of soul and feeling
something that will close my eyes
so images won't interfere
something that will hold my chest
to keep the sounds within me
play a song for me
a simple melody
one with lots of noise
but words that touch the heart
something that i'll wanna tape
so i can play it again and again
something that will make me say
"this is what arts about."
play a song for me
a simple melody.

I totally agree with every word of this poem. It's beautifully written and I know the feeling.
Lots of love,
