I AM THE SOLDIER

Contributed by DocPardue on Sunday, 30th May 2004 @ 10:20:56 PM in AEST
Topic: war

I am the soldier sent out in harms way
I pray that there could be a different way
The answers are never easy
And freedom is never free

I only ask one thing that you not forget me
Please pray as I am so far away from Home
At night before I close my eyes in sleep
Your name is what I whisper to a very loving God

So soldier please know that we love you
Come home soon, please come home soon
I wont ever let them forget you you are part of my heart.
For you see, I once was a soldier, forgotten by America.

Kerry "Doc" Pardue

This is really touching, Kerry.
People need to be made more aware of what these great men and women endure... Great poems..keep them up... I applaud you...

You are not alone in your memorial. Thank you.
