DREAMS Theres an angel standing guard while she is sleeping Hell protect her till the morning sunshines He sits by her bedside and watches As she relives the memories of time Remember the time when you held her On the day God called you away You said you were going to heaven You knew you just couldnt stay
Her tears you knew she was hiding So her heart wouldnt show any pain If only you where here to hold her Shed tell you all of her dreams You taught her to love all Gods creatures You taught her her prayers at bedtime You taught her to love one another Now teach her that life must go on
You bought her a gold chain and locket I remember the words that you said If ever she was lonely and needed To see your face once again
Just open the little gold locket And remember the love thats inside Its not the little gold locket That she holds so dear to her heart
Its the memories you placed inside it That shell treasure all the days of her life Someday you will meet in Gods heaven I know youll be waiting for her
So stay by her bedside and watch her Protect her till the morning sunshines You can dream all your dreams together Let her dream of all her good times
Written by Dorothy Elaine Calvert Copyrights This Poem was made into a song and recorded in Nashville its about what my Husband said to his granddaughter the week before he died she still keeps the locket close to her heart he is forever loved and never forgotten Thanks to all that have taken the time to read this poem

This is so moving. There is a special bond between grandparents and the grandchildren. At least I had it with mine. It was a devastating loss when they had to go. You wrote this so well. I can still remember the loss and the pain I felt.

Wow, thank you for telling me to read this, it really reminds me of my great grandfather. Thank you so much. Congratulations on it becoming a song. It's really very beautiful, thank you!
