Heartbreak

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Why do I miss you
when you're right there
Why can't your love be true
perhaps love is something you haven't learned to share

I loved you when you weren't like the rest of the crowd
remember when we could hold each other and make no sound
But now you're some big shot, I hope you feel proud
why is it one look from you makes my heart pound

You're not the person that I once knew
you do dumb things and put others down
Yet every now and then I see a spark of the old you
I see it deep in your eyes, just waiting to be found

It scares me that I can't help you
I don't know how, or even where to start
Is it possible for me to show you the way through
I get a blast of pain from your ignorance sent right to my heart

I can't be a player in your foolish game
I can't struggle to hold on without your hand
Everyone tells me you're impossible to tame
Your maturity is in high demand

You're my dying blood filtering through my fingers
you've left me here alone and used
But the real you is around me, and forever it lingers
my heart has been broken, battered, and bruised

Maybe I'm just living in the relm of the past
you may have changed into the man you want to be
Now you try moving way to fast
so I'll finally take my bound heart and set it free

So I'll say goodbye
with this last glance
I know this will be your last tear to cry
I've accepted this heartbreak, I can let down my stance

So goodbye my friend
this must be the end of forever
I guess our love is a dying trend
I hope your wall of secret insecurity will soon sever
