In your eyes
I see your love overflowing
pouring like the rain from above
sending me blessings
that I know I don't deserve.
In your eyes
I see you long to have with me
a friendship deeper than the deepest sea
I can't understand it
I hurt you so badly
All I know is that I am a simple man
so I'll keep this very short
I just want to thank you Lord for keeping me
every where that I go
I deserve to be sent far away from you
yet I notice more each day
Your love guides and lifts me when I pray
In your eyes
I see iniquity in me
yet forgiveness keeps covering me
Just like a father
who looks after his kid
I don't see
how you can love a man like me
all I do is make you cry and grieve
and yet you love me
I am so thankful for you
All I know is that I am a simple man
so I'll keep this very short
I just want to take this time to thank you
for all you have bestowed
I deserve to be sent far away from you
yet I notice more each day
your love guides and keeps me when I pray
In your eyes
I see the time of my death
even as I take my last breath
your hand still guides me
to the place that i shall dream
and I say
"I do not deserve heaven Lord
How can you say that I am your son
I disobeyed you
Yet you still held on to me
I see forever Lord when I look into your eyes
All I can be Jesus is hidden within your eyes
I can not fathom Lord what I see within your eyes
It sometimes scares me lord what I see within your eyes ...

My friend this is one of the wisest writes I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I too fall way short of his mark and yet he hears my prayers as if I were a saint. That God is a great guy isnt he ;)

| Your poetry was so moving. I went from hating love and the world to just hrm respect love? you think you are undeserving, yet i think otherwise. the repercussions of our actions are what we deserve. i hope your repercussions fair well in the time to come. |

| very well written from a very well brought up man. this is a very emotional and touching writing archie. you really do care a lot about yourself and the people in you life, this writing conveyed that so well. keep your head up, your not a bad person in anyway, and no matter what Jesus will loveyou, just do your best. |

Archie this reminds me of my favorite.....Why do you keep us in mind Lord? Why? Because I love you so......I will forgive you my son, in a very large way.,
It's only because of his undeserved kindness Archie that we could ever hope to stay on the way......and through the life of his dear son, we have a change.
This poem was absolutely beautiful!
Almost made me cry.

| Aw I'm not usually much of a Christian but reading the sheer depth of gratitude in this piece and feeling the kind of unconditional love God bestows upon his people.. makes me believe a little bit more. Very moving. Thanks for writing this. |

| This poem is very open in faith and the expression that you are a simple man before Jesus Christ is so inspiring. The last bit of free verse really stood out as it had some very unique ideas and the last line showed somewhat of your vulnerability when looking "within" Christ's "eyes". |
